Ryedale
The original design for this 3 bedroom house was carried out by Nagan Johnson who also acquired planning permission. Red Squirrel Architects were appointed to provide architectural services from RIBA Stage 4, through to completion. The house occupies a small sloping triangular shaped site in East Dulwich in close proximity to Peckham Rye. The house is finished externally with vertical western red cedar cladding which creates a strong contrast with the immediate streetscape. The house is constructed with a steel and timber frame and uses recycled insulation (made from compressed sawdust) to create a highly insulated envelope. The flat roofs are planted with a mix of Sedum and wild flowers. The design also includes grey water recycling for toilet flushing.
